Horror
Narrative
The storyline is of a group of friends that try to make contact with there dead friend then get confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.
Character
The characters in the movie are a young group of friends. The friendship group is one of a normal teen life, the main character and the 'Leader' of the group is a confident young girl , she acts like the guide in the movie telling everyone what to do and where to go as she takes control and leads the situation. The rest of the group are less important as in most horror stories they all follow the first character and die one by one.
Iconography
There is plenty of iconography typical of the horror genre: Death, old house, paranormal activity, spooky events, dark lighting and spirits. From this we defiantly know it is a horror.
Setting
Even though the trailer is quite short you can see that the story is bases in america. The main parts of the story happen in the house that seem to be 'haunted' by someone or something.

Narrative
A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
Characters
The characters in the trailer are very hard to describe as they are not ones that you see in most movies.
The main character a middle age man that is also a drug dealer, who's ambition of getting his drugs across the boarder is the main story line and focus of the story. His fake son who acts as the beloved idiot of the group that is often at the end of the harsh or very insulting joke. His fake wife and daughter act as the stronger and more confident characters of the group even though their parts in the story are not as important.
Iconography
There is plenty of iconography typical of the comedy genre: A innocent character, something goes wrong, a plane or goal, a strong main character, smart/funny remarks.
  Setting
The story is set in america but the goal is to smuggle the drugs from mexico into america.
The main action happens in the family caravan that acts as it acts as the thing to smuggle drugs in.

Your chosen movie
1) I have chosen movie is "The hunger game: catching fire"

2)  I chose this movie because I have heard it is a good one and even though I haven't watched it, I would like to and it seem to have things I'm interested in.

Institutional background
Use IMDB to find out the institutions behind your chosen film. Find your film, click on Company Credits and then look for the production company and UK distributor.

1) The film studio behind my chosen film is Lionsgate and color force.

2) The distributor for the theatrical release of the hunger games in the uk is Lionsgate Home Entertainment
.

No brand loyalty
1) The genres that my movie would fit into would be Science Fiction.

2) You can tell that the hunger games: catching fire fits in to science fiction as it is based in the future and the setting(spaceship) and props involved in the trailer are not ones from our generation.

3) The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is a sequel as it is the second movie of hunger games after the original and now there is a third; mocking-jay part 1 .

3a) The film uses the original movie in it's marketing as the people who loved the first movie are now going to see the second one therefore it doesn't need as much advertisement.

It’s all a matter of timing
1)The UK release date for Hunger Games: Catching Fire was the 11th of November in 2013.

2) The first trailer of Hunger Games: Catching Fire was on YouTube on the 14th of April in 2013.

3)

It’s a social thing
1) The word of mouth was probably very strong as there had been a previous hunger game before this one so it had to live up to the standards of the first one.

2) Smart, smoothly directed, and enriched with a deeper exploration of the franchise's thought-provoking themes, Catching Fire proves a thoroughly compelling second installment in the Hunger Games series..

Risky business
Use IMDB to find out the box office records for your chosen film. Find your film, click on Company Credits and then Box Office/Business.
